anyway, after practically doing nothing for the entire week, except for going for my 2hrs korean classes daily, we(the gals) have decided nt to waste our time in korea. So, on Thursday night (11 june), we went for a late night soju drinking session with the guys and gals from NUS.
anyway, pic taken on wed while we were out seeking for the cheap cheap bento stall hiding deep in some alley. we gt hungry halfway, and decides to give the roadside nian gao a try which was super good! but its nt cheap..2000won. thats almost 3 bucks for a small plate.
okie, pics from the soju drinking session.
me was the fers to try.
I can say it TASTES DISGUSTING. its almost like the ethanol we can find in labs. ( i din try ethanol in lab though, lols)
i din get drunk, cos i only took a SIP..hahas enough to rmb its taste for life.
the gals. we ordered some sweet and sour pork. and its the pork which 俊仪 stuffed himself with in 致父亲母亲 (korean drama) lols. ITS SUPER GOOD.
anyway, some guy from NUS gt a little high on soju and while we were on our 2km trail back to our dorms, he started screaming and running. lols, scary but funny at the same time. haahas
Fri. 13th june me, hm, sherm, sj, xy and qc went to daejeon zooland.
Its actually a zoo cum an amusement park. pretty cool place, but it wasnt easy to get there. we took taxi there which costs us 9800won ($15) . the charge for a one day pass was 16,000 won(abt $22).
anyway, pics...
at the entrance
just in case, some of u r wondering how come theres no pics of the animals..hmm cos my camera run out of batt and all these were pics taken from my frens. Anyway, after the walk ard their zoo, i really learn to appreciate our own Singapore Mandai Zoo. I think the animals in Mandai zoo have so much more welfare in mind for them as compared to those animals in Daejeon Zoo where they barely have walking spaces. The animals in Daejeon Zoo were really on "exhibition", they have no shade, and nowhere to hide. But one good point is, we can really spot them easily.
OH yah, we also went to their safari which almost felt like the jurassic park. lols. pretty cool. could have taken a video of the gates which were 80% similar to those in jurassic park. hahas. but my camera died on me.
while waiting to enter, we had some icecreams.
inside the bus which takes a shape of a lion. lols
after the safari, we headed for the rides in the amusement park.
we took almost all the rides, cept for the kiddish ones. lols.
and i even took the GIANT DROP, which left my stomach churning and burning real badly due to excessive secretion of gastric juice.
i swear tt i will never take one again. cos u will really feel dead during the plunge. AND the plunge seems to take forever.
i asked sherm to take a video of it, but sadly her camera also died on her just before the plunge. hahahas.
lols..super hilarious right? i was already nt qt sane when we were slowly ascending, so i was blabbering alot of nonsense. hahhas, but seriously, time seems to slow down during the ascend and stops during the plunge. it was really a tormenting but interesting experience.
anyway, pics taken while we were on other rides.
carousel
bumper car sherm looks like some pro racer.
roller coaster which twist and turn.
we din took pic for the wet roller coaster. its a little like those we take in escape but personally, i prefer the one in escape cos its higher and longer.
viking ship. we took twice. the second time was after the giant drop, so i was feeling nauseous already. lols.
hahas. the viking ends our trip and zooland was almost as quiet as a dead city. On our way out, we saw some filming gg on, but couldnt recognise any of them. lols. so while we walked pass them to get to the taxi stand, one of the them ( he does look a little familiar to me) called out to us :" hak-seng, hak-seng...HAK-SENG!!!" (hak-seng refers to student) lols. we stopped and i called back : we cun speak korean! lols. so, a mini conversation went on, asking where we were from and what we do for a living. LOLS. and we shouted back : HAK-SENG! LOLS.
actually, i was wondering if he stopped us cos he was expecting us to scream excitedly at the sight of them or wondering why we couldnt recognise them. LOLS.
anyway, we were too tired for anything at that time, so we quickly boarded a taxi back to KAIST. This time, the taxi costs us 11,500 won. GOSH!
we were too tired and went back to our dorm to sleep after dinner.
one last random pic before i end my entry. gt this from my friend.
